This past weekend we attended our very first Pignic! Our rescue, Metropolitan Guinea Pig Rescue, hosts a Pignic each year where you can bring your piggies to enjoy some fresh grass, good company, and fundraisers for the organization.
We decided to bring Lynx and Leo along with us. They tend to be the most easy-going, open to new experience piggies, and they are easier to travel with than Rigel and Io. Leo loved the grass! Almost as soon as we put him down, he started munching away. Lynx didn't seem to enjoy the outdoors as much, and spent the whole afternoon hiding in his Oxbow barn. He nibbled a bit, but grass just wasn't his thing. Moms also got to meet so many guinea pig people - both members and former adopters from MGPR. There were SO many guinea pigs! MGPR has a wonderful community of guinea pig lovers. We loved getting to spend time with other piggie parents, as well as their adorable fur children!
